WAR DEBTS QUESTION AMERICAN BANKERS' RESOLUTION (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, October 5. The Resolutions Committee of the American Bankers’ Association has reported: “We believe that, the time has come for the American Government to formulate principles upon which it will be enabled to cooperate with other nations to bring about the much-needed rehabilitation of European countries and (restore world peace.” The report, urges President Harding to have the United States officially participate iin the Reparations Commission and that ; congress bo asked to give the American ! Debt- Refunding Commission greater power ! regarding Allied debts. THE RESOLUTION ADOPTED. NEW YORK. October 5. ; (Received October G, 8.25 p.m.) ! The Bankers’ Convention adopted the ■ committee’s resolution. I CANCELLATION OF WAR DEBTS. OFFICIAL DISAPPROVAL. WASHINGTON, October 5. The Treasury Department has indicated that the administration disapproves of the suggestions made at the Bankers’ Convention that part of the Allied debts could be cancelled.
