OPERATIC SOCIETIES
DOMINION PRODUCER APPOINTED. (Per Uruled Pres Association.) WELLINGTON. October 4. A conference representing various eraiic societies sat in Wellington to-day under the auapices of the Dominion Federation of Operatic Societies. The chair was occupied by Mr A. W. Newton. Sixteen •ocieties are amalgam mated under the Federation. There were prsent at the meeting delegates from Wellington, Masterton. Palmerston North, Christchurch, and Hawcrn, while npoingies were received from Auckland, and Whangurei. The proceedings, which were held hi committee, were of a business character and consisted principally of deciding whether i Dominion producer should be appointed. After some discussion this was agr<*ed upon, and other routine business was transacted. Mr T. Foster, who at present is touring with the Nellie Brumley Dramatic Company, was appointed to the position of Dominion producer.
