DIFFICULT OF CONQUEST. Telegraph.—Press Assn.—CopyngbtJ. PARIS, October 2. Dr Bruce, interviewed at Marseilles, declared that while without doubt Everest could tvot easily be conquered, he believed the ascent was not inqtoariblc. though it would remain an extraordinarily difficult task. Patience, health and cheerfulness were needed, and acclimatisation was also indispensible. He was satisfied that the landmarks which had been marie would indicate to future expeditions the route to be followed. Dr Bruce said he wuld probahly again attempt, the ascent in two years' time.
