M.U.O.O.F.
FINANCIAL POSITION OF SOUTHLAND LODGES. THE ACTUARY’S REPORT. (Special to the Times). WELLINGTON, October 3. The valuation of the Southland M.U.1.0. O.F. disclosed a solvency ratio of only 17s lOd in the pound, states the annual report of the Actuary of Friendly Societies.* While this is an improvement on the position at the last valuation, it should be noted that only nine of the fifteen lodges contributed to that improvement, the remaining six showing retrogression. No fewer than seven of the lodges of this society have fallen below the Manchester Unity solvency test of 17/- in the pound, and in one instance drastic remedial measures should be taken at once.
