PORT OF BLUFF. The barquenirne Laura (Capt. Watchin) sailed for Greymouth at noon yesterday. The Union Company advise that the passenger steamer Paloona is to leave Melbourne for Bluff to-day. The Waihora is due at Dunedin about Thursday from Calcutta via New Zealand ports with a targe cargo of Eastern goods for discharge. Cable news has been received by the C. & D. Line that the Port Chalmers arrived ar London last Tuesday afternoon from Wellington. The vessel sailed from Wellington on August 8. Messrs H. L. Tapley & Co. haic received cable advice that the Canadian Conqueror left Montreal on September 9, and Sy tine y (Gapc Breton J on September 20, cargo laden for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide aiid Auckland. The vessel is due at Brisbane on November 1, and at Dunedin on November 23. The Port Auckland, from New York, via Panama, is due at Auckland on Friday. From Auckland she will call at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin to continue discharge. From this port she will proceed to Australian ports where she will complete unloading. The C. <fc D. Line steamer Port Denison, which left London on September 22 for Dunedin direct, is due about November 2. She will then go to Lyttelton and New Plymouth to complete discharge and commence Homeward loading at New Zealand ports. • THE WILTSHIRE. DIVERS ON THE SCENE. Diving operations were commenced at the Great Barrier Island last week to endeavour to recover the submerged, cargo of the wrecked steamer Wiltshire. Preliminary investigations have been in progress for some time, but unfavourable weather has kindred the activities of the divers, several of whom have been engaged from Auckland to carry out the work. A quantity of the necessary gear has been assembled oa the spot and preparations for the renewed work of salvage have been pushed forward when any sped of fine weather has afforded the opportuniry. A Large launch, and two lifeboats are employed to carry tlie men and equipment from Tryphena to the scene of the wreck. Only a small portion of the wrecked vessel's forepart remains on the rocks, the remainder having been loosened by heavy aeas and. become submerged.
