WELLINGTON-WAIRARAP A CONFERENCE. (Per United Press Association.) •*-- WANGANUI, May 16. The annual conference of the WellingtonWairarapa Farmers' Union opened to-day, Mr W. Morrison presiding over a large attendance of delegates. The following remits were carried: That the Conference strongly protests against the unjust deduction of four lb weight per bale of wool by the selling brokers. That the former arrangement of fourteen days prompt with regard to payments for wool sold be reverted to. That the Woolbrokers’ Association be requested to make a reduction in their charges for handling wool, specially the charge of a farthing per pound for receiving, weighing, and lotting. That the Government be urged to bring down legislation to make stock and station firms liable for payment on sales of live stock made through them or their agents for forward delivery. That an Export Board should be formed to represent every branch of the farming industry.
