ATROCITIES BY ANGORA TURKS, (By Telegraph.—Press Aaem—Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, May 16. Mr Chamberlain in the House of Commons, said Lord Curzon had sent to the Trench, Italian and American GovenvXoenu proposals for an imemdiate joint investigation into the grave charges against the Angora Turke of cruelty and barbarity (towards Christian workers in Asia Minor. Mr Chamberlain read a statement by Dr the Near Eastern relief commissioner, Stating that the Turks were deliberately jlamung to exterminate the Christian tiuorities and were herding Ottoman Greeks into Amaaa in such a manner that large juimbers died on the roads, on which thousands of dead had been counted. These ptrocities had been going on seven years. Mr Chamberlain added that confirmation tah been received of Major Youll’s report that the Turks murdered 10,000 Greeks, •forwards seizing the widows and daughters trinsfemng them to hs-rems.
