WIRELESS SERVICE
AUSTRALIA TO BRITAIN. AGREEMENT SIGNED. , (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE, March 29. Mr Hughes has signed an agreement with Amalgamated Wireless Ltd., for a direct wireless service between the Commonwealth and the United Kingdom, the rates not to exceed the full rate of two shillings a word; deferred one shilling; week-end messages sixpence, with a minimum of ten shillings per message; Government messages a shilling a word; press sixpence; deferred press threepence. AUSTRALIAN WIRELESS. ADVANTAGES OF CONTRACT. SYDNEY, March 28. (Received March 29, 5.5 p.m.) Fisk, commenting on the wireless agreement, stated that within five years Australia would be in communication with England by wireless telephone.
