SOME FACTS. One of the most popular of the many centres of interest in Invercargill just now is the Progressive Stores in Tay Street. Mr J. Robbie, Messrs H. and J. Smith’s window dresser, is largely responsible for the excellence of the display that this well known house is making in fitting celebration of Jubilee Week. The windows are very attractively dressed, certainly, but within the building he the greatest attractions. These are in the shape of goods that two months ago were selling at twice as much as they are marked at to-day. The rush of visitors to the stores is enormous and, i as the weather is warm, they mostly look i damp but cheerful as they wend on their way well laden with articles bought at true bargain prices. On Monday the shop was chock full of goods. Yesterday moming there were evidences of a steady attack by a keen public. “Let the people sou our stock and they will buy it,” prophesied Mr Smith the other day.
