The wiseacre’s phophecy gave us a month and we would be out of the game. But we have come to stay, and if the patronage the public of Invercargill has accorded us within the past continues, we still intend trading on the same lines.

Some will say I don’t know how you do it. We will tell you. In the old days the up-country butcher with a small capital caine to town, opened a new shop, and had to rely on the saleyards for the stock he required for hi.s business. Naturally the profiteer would get the wind up and in a month the little butcher would be up the country again. Our method is on more up-to-date lines to ensure our customers-getting their meat at the least expense and in prime condition. Our buyer, Mr P. Price, a judge of stock there is no question, goes into the country where the cream of Southland is procured, takes it straight from the farm to the abattoirs, and there it is killed in hygienic conditions under Government inspection.

We would like to apologise to our numerous customers on the short variety of our small goods. Our up-to-date small goods factory is nearing completion and our Mr G. Whitworth, who superintends the manufacture of our noted sausages is an expert, and connoisseur of high class small goods, and he intends putting before the public the same quality of goods that he is wellknown for in the principal towns of New Zealand.

We also invite your inspection of our new 7 electric meat-cutting machine which we have installed to expedite and handle our meat under hygienic conditions.

NOTE: There is a lot of supposed inferior meat offered to the public. WITHOUT FEAR OF CONTRADICTION WE DO NOT STOCK IT—ONE QUALITY, THE BEST ONLY. REMEMBER,, you have the protection of the Government Inspector, and our stock-book at the abattoir is open to the public for inspection at any time.
