IMPERIAL CONFERENCE
THE OPENING POSTPONED. ILLNESS OF MR LLOYD GEORGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 12. The Imperial Conference has been postponed to Monday owing to the uncertain arrival of the Canadian delegates and Mr Lloyd George’s illness. His doctor forbids him to undertake public duties for another week. He will therefore proceed to the Ide of Wight General Smuts, interviewed, said the forthcoming Conference would be of far-reaching importance. A stocktaking had become imperative as nothing was more dangerous than a vacillating course amid the present world’s perils.
