The secretary of the Lyttelton branch of the Seamen's Union was summoned, and also the Lyttelton manager of the Union Company and the Company's marine superintendent, and a conference was held on board. It was pointed out that the cook could not be summarily dismissed as he was entitled to 24 hours’ notice. The firemen finally agreed to sail on conditioa that the cook left the ship at Wellington to-morrow, and the cook wa# accordingly given 24 hours’ notice. The Moan a sailed at 1 p.m.
