By the death of Mr* James Petrie at her residence, Maungatua, at the age of 84 years, another of the fast-disappearing band of pioneers has passed away (says the Otago Daily Times). Arriving with her husband at Port Chalmers on February 10, 1858, in the Robert Henderson, they took up land at Maupg&tua. The late Mrs Petrie’s husband predecased her by 10 years, at the age of 82. Of 10 of a family nine survive her, 32 grandchilden, and 14 greatgrand -children.
