Scnior Detective Cameron arrived in Invercargill from the north yesterday. Sir Arthur Gridley leaves Auckland by the Riverina to-day for Sydney. The Rev. Dr Andrew Cameron has been re-elected Chancellor of Otago University, and Sir John Roberts, vice-Chancellor. A Sydney Pres? Association message states that Mr Janies has been appointed an acting-judge for six months. The appointment will be made permanent next year. The Hon. G. J. Anderson is expected to arrive in Invercargill by motor car at about 3.30 p.m. He will receive a deputation from the Southland League in regard to the Bluff to Stewart Island service and from the Town Council in regard to the Municipal linance Bill and the memorial. Two ex-Aucklanders, Messrs H. L. Massey and A. P. Morgan, have been appointed architects to the Hamvorth Public Utility Society, Limited, of London. The society proposes to build 3000 houses on the Hanworth Park garden suburb property, 1000 to cost approximately £1250 each and 2000 approximately £O3O each. Messrs Massey and Morgan were recently awarded the Daily Mail prize tor designs for ideal homes. The Rev. K. Palgrave Davy, of Bayswater, superintendent iff the New Zealand Children s Mis-ion, has been invited by Ihe Evangelisation Society of Now South Wale? to initiate a movement for the benefit of the young people of that State on the lines of the work of the Children's Mission in the Dominion.
