ANOTHER BILL IN THE COUNCIL. SWEEPING PROPOSALS. * (Special to the Times.) W-'ELLINGTON, September 22. The Hon. J. MacGregor gave notice in the Legislative Council to-day of the Marriage Amendment -Bill No. 2. His bill provides that the Registrar-General is not to enter on the h.4- of officiating ministers firstly the name of any bishop, priest, or minister of the Roman Catholic Church so long as the Ne Temere decree or Chap.erl of the decrees of the Council of Trent, referred to in the Ne Temere decree, in in force in New Zealand; or, secondly, the mime of any bishop, priest, or minister of any' church which by any article of religion, confession of faith, creed, or catechism denies or questions directly or by implication tne validity in any sense of marriages solemnised in accordance with the provisions oi the Marriage Act.
