PRINCE OF WALES
A BIRTHDAY DEMONSTRATION. SCHOOL CHILDREN’S DISPLAY. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, June 23. (Received June 24, 12.5 a.m.l Extra interest centred in the Prince of Wales’ doings to-day, owing to its being his birthday. He received many congratulations, and there were frequent impromptu demonstrations in his honour. He attended a great schools’ birthday display on the Cricket Ground, 20,000 children participating in various tableaux, the chief feature being a group forming a Prince of Wales’ feathers, with the words “Happy returns of the day” as the base. Subsequently the Prince visited the University, where the degree of LL.D. was conferred on him. The weather was brilliant. To-night the Prince is attending ,the Queen Club ball at the Town Hall.
