CAPSIZE OF A MOTOR
| INVERCARGILL RESIDENT KILLED. SAD END OF HONEYMOON TRIP. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 28. Sydney Smell, a returned soldier, who v-as in ChriMelmreh on hi.- honeymoon from Invere-irgill, was killed this afternoon by the overturning of hj motor on the road at Bromley. There were several men in the car, anti at a sharp turn of the road the .-leering gear lacked. The driver, MeCnusland, could not turn the car, and it overturned. All the t cm units were pinned beneath the car. Shib.l was killed instantaneously, and MeCa.usland was severely cut about tiie legs, ihe others- escaped with a few scratches. EUR THER PA RTICU LARS. The anr belonged to Mr James McCausland, of Lisniore, Ashburton, and was only purchased ;. a teruay. The party consisted of Messrs Smell, McCaosl.-md, John .VicLure, of Sumner; Gerald Riordan, of St. Alban*; John t nicer, of the Railway Hotel, Christchurch; and William Thomson, of the Chalmers ihil.tary V; aid, Christchurch. ElcC.-.u-iand states that at the time of the accident the speedometer was showing about twelve miles an hour. An inquest w;Ji nr held tomorrow.
