Two blacksmiths .stole treasure from Hikles-heim Cathedral worth millions of mark.'- apart from their unknown artistic value. They took five hours to bore a hole in the door of the safe. The loot included an eleventh century pyx, a sold cup worth £3l),o<K>. and a mediaeval Virgin encrusted with jewels, : >!1 of which the thieves broke up. They were arrested directly they reached Berlin y.'ith the gold and jewels.
