A proclamation declares Tasmania infected with influenza, and empowers the Commonwealth Government to control traffic between Tasmania and the mainland. POSITION IN CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, August 21. The local Health Officer’s bi-weekly bulletin regarding influenza in North Canterbury states that there are 14 cases—three of the pneumonic type, nine mild, one medium, and one moderate.
