THE WOOL SALES. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, August 19. At the wool sales there was keen competition for merinos. Fine crossbreds realised higher prices. Continental buyers are operating freely. FALL IN TALLOW. LONDON, August ID. At the tallow sales 1428 casks were offered and withdrawn, as there was no competition. Quotations, which are nominal, show a decline of 2s per cwt.
