Received August 19, 1.15 a.m. The Wheat Commission report finds that there was no evidence of a secret understanding or that Georgeson received favoured treatment. The report says that 4s 4id was a fair price under the circumstances. The absence of deposit or security was a grave mistake and indicated want of proper caution. There was no reason to doubt Georgeson’s good faith, but the risk was not yet over. The monopoly of the Eastern trade seems to fall to the purchaser of such a large quantity of wheat.
