ANZAC DAY
THE LONDON CELEBRATIONS. WHY NEW ZEALANDERS WERE NOT IN THE MARCH. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 2. In connection with the Anzac Day celebrations in London at which the New Zealanders were not represented, Sir James Allen cabled to the Officer Commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces in the United Kingdom and to-day he received the following reply; "The War Office made arrangements for the dominion’s march on May 3, at which King George was to be present. The Australians approached us at the last moment asking that we should join in the Anzac march. In view of the official march on May 3 I did not consider it advisable to have two marches. The senior officers concurred in this view.”
