The Times’ Peking correspondent states that there are indications that a coup d'etot is impending, involving the Presidency. Several northern generals have telegraphed to Ihe Government advocating a compromise with the South and the postponement of the Presidential election. LOANS FOR MILITARY PURPOSES. PEKIN, September 2. Received September 3, 7.20 p.m. The Japanese bank has loaned China thirty million yen for the military, and the Marconi Company has loaned £600,000, and will provide wireless, and telephones. An official Gazette announces the formation of a company virtually monopolising imports-,and exports, including iron and rice. It is believed that the Japanese are. providing the funds. The export of silver has been prohibited.
