WAR REGULATIONS
LIQUOR RESTRICTIONS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 3. Additional war regulations are gazetted providing that before, upon, or after the arrival at the ports of Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton nr Dunedin, including Port Chalmers, of any overseas vessel carrying troops, the Commissioner of Police, or any Superintendent of Police, upon the receipt of a requisition on that behalf from the Minister of Defence, may publish a notice ordering that all licensed premises situated within the area specified in the notice shall be closed for the sale of intoxicating liquor for such time as may be specified in the notice (not exceeding twenty-four hours on any one occasion l. If Auckland, Wellington, or Dunedin be the port of arrival, an area having a radius of 15 miles from the chief city post-office may be specified. In the case of Lyttelton, being the port of arrival, an area having a radius of 15 miles from the Chief Post Office in Christchurch may be specified. To supply intoxicating liquor for pecuniary consideration on the premises of a Chartered Club will be deemed to be a sale of such liquor.
