A Sydney cable states that the Rev. •las. Green has been elected President of the Methodist Conference. Captain Geo. Myers, well-known in Invercargill as a territorial enthusiast prior to the war, and who left here with the Main Body, being among the early batches to return, was yesterday present at the Patriotic Gymkhana. Captain Myers has been for some time past attached to the Headquarters Staff at Dunedin.

At the close of S. .John's choir practice last evening, Mr Alim Tennent, who had been acting as hon. see. and treasurer of the choir since the departure of Mr Frank McNatty, was farcwelled by the members. The Yen. Archdeacon Richards presided, and on behalf of the choir, presented Mr Tennent with a handsomely bound Cathedral PrayerlMK)!;. Freni choir boy to hon. sec., Mr Alan Tennent had rendered valuable assistance to the church and his services met with hearty appreciation from the vicar, organist and choir. A pleasant musical hour was spent and the guest of the evening received a most cordial “sendoff” from his fellow-workers, with whom he had worked so long in perfect harmony.
