A matter in connection with the League of Social Service was mentioned at Thursday night’s meeting of the H. & C.A. Board. It appears that some poor families who receive cast-off clothes lack the skill to make them fit the boys and girls, and the League has decided to give instruction to (he mothers and others who lack a knowledge of such work for, as Miss Birss stated, there are to he found women unable to perform this domestic service. The 'League would in the meantime do the work themselves. Mr H. E. Niven said he had been spoken to by members of the League with a view to financial assistance from the Board.
