Received August 8, 10.40 p.m. A frontier report to the Telegraaf confirms the rumours of a mutiny of 300 German soldiers at Antwerp. They threw down their rifles when ordered to the Ypres front, but were quickly overpowered and frdtpn ,*o the barracks handcuffed. IN AFRICA BIG FIGHT IN PROGRESS. Received August 8, 6.20 p.m. East Africa official; After occupying the enemy’s advanced positions southwest of Lindi, we attacked their main positions on the Mihambia, no decision being yet reached. There was severe fighting and considerable losses on both •ides. We reached the Moindy river in the Kilwa area, pressing back the enemy towards Mahenge. A strong force is being engaged southward of Mahenge. AMERICA’S ENTRY HOSTILE PROPAGANDA IN MEXICO. STIRRING UP STRIFE AGAINST AMERICA. {Australian & N.Z. Received August 0, 10.40 p.m. Germans and German sympathisers at Chihuahua are circulating propaganda that the United States is on the verge of a revolution. They appeal for a blow now to regain all former Mexican territory. Bombs were placed on three Norwegian ships, one American, and one Newfoundland schooner.
