PORT OF BLUFF, There were no shipping movements at this port yesterday.
The coastal steamer Kotare is due at Dunedin this morning from Stewart Island with a cargo of timber. She is timed to sail this evening for Invercargill and Riverton. The Rosamond is loading a full cargo of coal at Greymouth for Dunedin and Bluff. She wits expected to clear the West Coast port last night. The Kaiapoi left Greymouth on Monday evening for Melbourne with a full cargo of timber. On completion of discharge at the Victorian port the Kaiapoi will loud a full shipment of general cargo there for discharge at Bluff, Dunedin. and Lyttelton. She is expected to be despatched from Melbourne about March IT. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori arrived at Lyttelton at 7.10 a.m., and connected with the first express yesterday. (Per.United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 6. Arrived—Orcpuki (7.30 a.m.), and Mararoa ( S .O >, from Lyttelton; Kaipate 1 0.15>, and I'utiki (noon), from Wanganui. Sailed—Mapourika (3.15 p.m.), for I‘icton, Nelson, and West Coast; Moeraki (6), and Mararoa (7.50), for Lyttelton. THE WEATHER. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Mr Ratos' weather summary; Anticycionio conditions have ruled, with fair to cloudy weather generally, and moderate to strong easterly winds have predominated. Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds, backing to northerly in the northern districts ami fresnening northerlies ruling elsewhere shortly. Expect increasing haze and cloudiness, with a falling barometer everywhere soon.
