UNIVERSITY SENATE
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 28. The Bnlversitv Senate yesterday adopted a recommendation of the Bylaw Committee that a bill be drafted amending the University Act by the addition of a proviso that, save in cases of emergency, of which the Senate shall he the sole Judge, the Senate shall not appoint examiners, or make or amend any statute or regulation concerning schemes of study or examinations until receipt of the report or recommendation from the Board of Studies, or unless the Board fails to present such. The Senate may adopt, reject, or amend, a report or recommendation, or take other action without further reference to the Board of Studies. It was resolved that in considering the results of the November examinations in the case of returned soldiers who hate not gained scholarships, to award such soldiers found worthy hy the examiners an additional senior scholarship not exceeding six in any year.
