Mr C. J. Hewlett, who has been clerk of the Court at Palmerston for many years, has been promoted to Invercargill. The Yen. Archdeacon and Mrs Richards, of St. John’s. Invercargill, returned on Thursday by the second express from Christchurch, where, for the past four weeks, the Archdeacon has had charge of the Rev. Mr Fitzgerald's parish. National Committee on business connected with the war work of that organisation. Mr Kersley, acting chairman, and Mr Brownell completed their official tour as far as Dunedin, when the Hon. C, M, Luke took Mr Kersley's place. These gentlemen will meet the local Board of Directors and a number of representative citizens on Monday evening.
