ELDERLY WOMAN’S SUICIDE. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, September 3, An inquest was held concerning the deatli of .Mrs Matilda Bardsley, N.K. Valley, aged 7" years, who died in Hie hospital tliis morning. The evidence showed that her husband, on proceeding to the haekyard at :,.3o p.m. on Saturday, found deceased sitting on .a box with a cut in her throat. She suffered from throat trouble and had to sit up at night for hick of breath. The medical evidence showed that deceased had been mentally depressed by the death of a son who was killed in action. The verdict was that death was dim to Injuries self-inflicted while in a depressed state of mind. RAILWAY CROSSING MISHAP. MANS SKULL FRACTURED. WELLINGTON. September 3.
