A meeting of military eligible* at Broken Hill passed a motion against conscription, and pledging themselves to oppose it even if it resulted in imprisonment or death. The first hatch of farms for returned soldiers, comprising 100,600 acres, will he available at the end of the month. MELBOURNE. July 35. The meningitis epidemic is unabated. There have been 43G cases since January, and the death rate is 31 per cent.
