BITEBSDALE STOCK SALE. RECORD PRICES OBTAINED. The monthly stock sale was held at the Kiversdalc yards on Friday in fine weather (reports the Ensign), there being a large attendance of farmers and buyprs. The yarding comprised some 3000 sheep, anil the sale was brisk throughout, everything being sold under the hammer. All classes of sheep were in demand, and prices advanced all round on those of recent sales; in fact, tlie sale constituted a record for the district. Hoggets were fairly plentiful and realised up to 25, fi. Full and fail-ing-mouthed ewes, of which a good many were yarded, sold exceptionally well, realising up to 25/1. There were only a few pens of wethers yarded. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., topped the market with a line of 65 four and six-tooth wethers at 36/-. DUN2DXIT MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Go., Ltd., report as follows; Oats. — Despite the fact that offerings from the country arc light, buyers are not disposed to operate at late rates. Shippers are operating cautiously. Good bright, heavy lines arc in most request, while other lines are being taken for local consumption. We quote: Prime milling, 2 8 '-j to 2 0; good to best feed, 2/7 to 2. 8; damaged and discoloured, from 2 4 per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat —Values for choice milling quality rema’n unaltered. Any lines of this description meet with a ready sale on arrival. Medium quality is not receiving the same attention from millers, owing to having fair stocks .on hand. Fowl wheat is in short supply, and buyers are turning their attention to lines of medium milling to (ill requirements. We quote; Choice milling velvet, 5/2 to 5/4; choice lines of milling red wheat and Tuscan, 4 '6 to 4/9; medium milling, 4/3 to 4'5; best whole fowl wheat, 4/to 4/3 per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. —Although consignments of late have not been heavy, sales are difficult to effect at late rates. Many of the consignments arriving are more or less frosted, and for these buyers are not Keen. Choice tables are not plentiful, and lines of this description arc most in request. Well-graded, even-sized seed lines have a strong enquiry, and consignments of these are readily quitted. We quote: Best tables, £7 to £7 10/-; others, from £5 to £6 10 - per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—Supplies coming forward at present arc about equal to the demand, and values remain unchanged. Best oaten sheaf is most in request by buyers, while medium and discoloured lines are not so readily quitted. We quote: Best oaten sheaf, £4 to £1 5/-; medium to good, £3 10/- to £3 15 -; damaged and inferior, from £3 per ton (sacks extra). THE TALLOW MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London Office: — Tallow —We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: Fine mutton, 49/6 per cwt: good beef, 4S/9 per cwt; mixed, 15/6 per cwt. The market is lirm, with an upward tendency. LONDON MARKETS. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co.. Ltd., have received the following cable from .1. and J. Lonsdale and Co., Ltd., London: "Butter slow at from 166,'- to 168/-. Cheese demoralised, and quoted at from S2/- to 84, - downwards."
