Sailed—Pateena (12.50 p.m.), for Picton and Nelson; Maori (7.55), for Lyttelton. The Waihemo, which arrived iate last night from Adelaide, had heavy weather during the early part of the voyage, anti •was compelled to hove to for some bours. THE WEATHER. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, July 14. Following is Mr Bates’ weather summary for the past 24 hours: —Very high atmospheric pressure has ruled with cool and changeable conditions, but north of Auckland the weather has been subject to the disturbing influence of a subtropical storm. Moderate to strong •outh-easterly winds have prevailed elsewhere. - Forecast; Present indications are for high cast to south-east winds northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and moderate to strong soutti-east to north-east winds elsewhere. The barometer has a falling tendency and unsettled conditions with lain will probably extend over the North Island and north-eastern districts of the South Island, with increasing cloudiness elsewhere. A westerly disturbance is likely to pass in the south about Tuesday next.
