A PASSENGER MISSING. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 14. On tiie arrival of the Rarawa from Onehunga this morning the captain reported that a saloon passenger, Miss Brown, was missing. She was last seen at dinner last night, and was missed at 10 o'clock. It is believed that she belonged to Waiuku. The sea was very smooth. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. CARTERTON. July 13. Christopher William Smith, a discharged soldier, charged with assault on a young lady at Greytown, attempted suicide last night by cutting his throat.
