EQUALITY OF SACRIFICE
INCKEASiOD TAXATION URGED. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 1-1. Mr McCombs, M.P., addressed a large meeting of men at Addington workshop:! at the luncheon hour to-day. A motion was carried amid, cheers that the possibilities of voluntary enlistment will not l>e exhausted till the Government calls upon the country to share in the sacrifice of the soldiers by guaranteeing adequate pensions, repealing the pauperisation clauses of the War Pensions Act, which refers to the Pensions’ Board taking income into consideration, by paying soldiers not less than the trade union late, ami by imposing taxation to meet the increased cost, thereby making the movement a national one in men and money and enforcing equality of sacrifice. .
