The Government’s attitude on the liquor question was a prominent issue. BROKEN HILL MINERS. THE STRIKE RESUMED. SYDNEY, February 12. Received February 13, 5.5 p.m. The Broken Hill settlement was shortlived. After a mass meeting tho men decided to declare the strike on again owing to alleged victimisation by the dismissal of shift bosses at the central mine. Picketing was resumed. Senator Pearce has been advised of the position. LABOUR SECRETARY’S DEATH. ADELAIDE, February 13. Received February 13, 5.5 p.m. Lawrence Cohen, secretary of the Victorian ' Trades and Labour Council, was found, dressed only in his singlet, beneath the window of his hotel, a drop of eighteen feet. He succumbed from his injuries. He arrived from Broken Hill the previous night, where he was negotiating for a settlement of the strike. ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES / BODY RECOVERED. The body of the girl Dorothy Scott. »ged 9 years, who was drowned on Thursday evening while crossing th© Orawna stream in company with another girl, was recovered yesterday. The constable at Otantau, who had been communicated with after the accident occurred, organised a systematic search, which, however, •was delayed owing to a fresh in the stream. Yesterday, however, the body was recovered at a spot about 10 miles further down tho stream from where the little girl disappeared.
