WOOLLEN MILL EMPLOYEES
, INCREASED'WAGES REFUSED. (Per UnitecfcPress Association.) WELLINGTON, February 10. The Wellington Woollen Mill Employees’ Union recently presented a request for a 10 per cent, increase in all wages owing to the increased cost of living. The company replied that they could not grant this request, as the output was fully booked at rates based on the award wages. The company were not unmindful of the operatives in the past, but the latter were now earning good wages with overtime. It is understood that the operatives will refuse to work overtime.
