ENTERTAINMENTS.

popular picture palace. Tho fin.nl presentation .of the programme now current at the Popular Picture P.nlrwe is set down for this evening'. The scries has much to commend it. notably the drama "An Example.” a powerful story which is very well produced. Tlier' 1 is also a varied programme of scenic, topical and comedy subjects. FULLERS’ PICTURES. Fullers' management will this evening present the drama "Thou Shalt Not Kill ’ for the last time. The picture is splendidly supported with topical and comedy subjects and is assured of being well patronised. THE LYCEUM. ‘'The Fear of his Past" programme will he presented for the last time at the Lyceum Theatre this evening. The series has been well supported during its currency and the indications favour a successful conclusion to its run. "CINDERELLA.” The final performance of the .1. C. Williamson, Ltd., Pantomime Company in the production of "Cinderella” took place last evening in the Municipal Theatre before a large and enthusiastic audience. As on tho previous night the production was a complete success, and it is quite evident that, had it not been for tho short notice that was given, the Company would have received much more support than was accorded. Providing the management sends along such fine combinations as that of the latest "Cinderella'’ union of artists, it is safe to predict that there will be no reason to regret such enterprise, war or no war. At last night’s performance, Mr Barry Lupino, assisted by Mr Jack McCardle, excelled as an auctioneer. His offerings were a flag, a municipal doll, and an autograph album of the members of the New Zealand Parliament in 1912. The result was that £2O was obtained for the Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. Last evening the company was entertained by tho management, ■ represented by Mr "Johnny” Farrell, at the Club Hotel, when a choice supper was served by the proprietor, Mr Victor Coleman, and, notwithstanding the somewhat cold reception tendered the company, climatically and otherwise, tho answer to "Are we downhearted?” was an emphatic "No!”

The company will connetc with a steamer at Dunedin, whence they will proceed to Hobart. After concluding a season there, they will appear in Adelaide. Perth, Kalgoorlie. and so on. In conversation with a Times representative last evening. Mr Farrell stated that, although the management had lost money on the (rip to Invercargill, they were not in any way discouraged, and, so far as he was concerned, they had no intention of cutting Invercargill out of their itinerary in the future.
