Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs A. R. Deschler and W. Roxburgh. Mr W. I'. Hunt reported having attended the dominion conference of A. ; and P. Associations at Wellington, and i the motion introduced by him in the I direction of graining tin* freehold of ; Grown lands was carried nnaniiuousiy. ilt was very favourably received. the : North Island delegates in particular strongly suimorting it. They had the i freehold in the North Island, and could [ not see why people in the South should •not have it also. Sir Walter Buchanan : was particularly strong in his condemnation of tlie existing order of : things. 1 The secretary (Mr Dcnniston Cnthbert- : son I read the draft of the annual report, .which was adopted on tlie motion of Mr | Hunt. ! The Clydesdale Horse Society asked 'for the usual annual snbeription.— Rej quest to be complied with. ■ C. J. Reakes, Chief Veterinarian, wrote ‘stating that he had been anthorised to .forward the .Association a selection of 1 locked specimens of New Zealand words, i similar to tlie one that had been sent to itlm Panama Exposition.— It was decided j to have a suitable case made for the I exhibits, and that they be loaned to the j Museum when tlie Association was not ; requiring it. j .1. McCulloch. Acting Fields Instrm*- | tor. wrote stating that lie had noticed i tlie small aica of ground between tlie ‘railway and the hall, and said that it would fie useful to the Agricultural Department as a demonstration plot. He would be pleased to bear from tbe Association in the matter. —Secretary to make further enquiries. The Romney Marsh Association wrote I advising the allotting of the ram ami 1 ewe championship to the Association. — i 1 leceived. ! The Canterbury A. and P. Association j asked that the Association appoint a rei presentative in connection with the Nevv ; Zealand Draught Horse Stud Book. Mr 1 T. Patterson was reappointed. j It was decided to hold the annual Horse Parade on October 2, and judges, ! stewards and marshalls were appointed, i It was agreed that trotting horses be ’allowed to parade in harness, and tiiat one .shilling in* charged for admission j to tin* grandstand. i \ mi 1 i-eorn mi 11 t*c was appointed to decide in regard to tlie awarding of the Sbavv-Sa vill and Albion Co.'s cup.
