MUNICIPAL ELECTION. rpo MY FELLOW ELECTORS OF INJL VERCAKGILL. —Upon my retnn* from the North to-day (Saturday), I waa surprised to find my name amongst th« Nominations for the seats at the Council table. I had left a signed Nomination Paper to be in readiness for any, unexpected development, and it was put; in by my friends subject to withdrawal. In view of the increased interest taken by the citizens, I am pleased to consent to serve for a further term, and hope the Electors will renew theln confidence. During this week I visited the Christchurch swimming baths, and that vLsit lias convinced me that the frittering away of small sums in assisting bathing in cold water must give way to a strenuous effort to provide tepid swimming baths. I have no promises 1o make, except to do what in my judgment seems best in ibe general interest of the town.
