TWO MEN DROWNED
IX CAPSIZED DIXGHV. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. April 11. Two young men, John Hair and John Xiehoils. residents of Utahuhn. wete drowned in the Tamaki river toy the rapsizing of a llat-botlomed dinghy. In company with John Jansen, they were fishing, when the craft capsized. Jansen was the only one of the throe able to swim. All held on to the. capsized boat till Hair and Xiehoils were exhausted and sank. Jansen's cries brought a launch to his rescue. He was landed much exhausted, after being an hour in the water. Efforts to recover the bodies of the other two* failed. Tito deceased were both single men, about JO years <m age, employed in the Southdown 1-feez-ing Works. Later. The body of William Xiehoils. one of the victims of the Tamaki river dt owning accident, was recovered yesterday afternoon near the .scene ot the accident, i lie body of Hair is still missing. At the inquest the coroner greatly commended Jansen, who was in Hie dinghy with the two deceased, for his conspicuous bravery in attempting to rescue them. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned.
