AGRICULTURAL EVENTS FOB WEEK ENDING MARCH 27. Friday, March 36.—» Horso sale at WinUm. CLEAKING SALE AT WAIKAIA PLAINS STATION. Wright, Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report having field a most successful sale on account of Mr W. M. Hailes, of Waikaia Plains station, who has relinquished one of his runs. There was a largo attendance of buyers from all over Southland as well as of neighbours from surrounding properties, and bidding was good for every line that came forward. Following are the sales: —837 eight-tooth ewes lli/H, floo four and live-year-old ewes 17/1. 7,00 do. 16/6, 838 do. 16/1, 1116 fat ewes 19/9, 1 U> f. and f.m. ewes 13/6, 1030 two-tooth ewes IK/,'!, 3 111 hill ewe lambs 13 8. 100 four, six and f.m. paddock ewes 17/-, 893 do. 16/6. 30 forward wethers IS t. 30 do. The Now Zealand Loan ami Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd . have received the following cablegram from their London office under date 24th inst.:—Wool Sales —Good competition as compared with r,tli March. Faulty merino 7Vz per cent, lower; crossbred greasy 5 to 7’,4 per cent, higher. Slipo scoured in favour of sellers. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received tlie following cablegram, dated 21th inst., from their London agents in connection with the wool market; —• "Merino, market weaker, especially faulty wools. Crossbred greasy, market very firm, prices advanced slightly.
