PUBLIC .SERVICE COMMISSIONERS’ REGULATION. WELLINGTON, April iG. A new regulation by the Public Service Commissioner is gazetted to-night, prescribing the special departmental examination for Inspectors of factories, etc,, belonging to the Labour Department, who are now placed in the general division and desire promotion to the higher grade of inspectors. who are graded in the clerical division. The first examination under this regulation will be held next week. There are two vacancies to he filled, viz., the positions of officer in charge of the Department in Christ church and inspector in charge of inspectors in the 'Wellington district. Some dozen inspectors will sit for the examination. Besides the, subject of arithmetic the examination will bear practically on the higher work of officers of the Department.
