BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET. (Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN. April 15. At Burnside to-day IS3 fat cattle were yarded; Prime bullocks were not plentiful, and for these bidding: was fairly brisk at the commencement of the sale. Owing, however, to a number of butchers holding a supply from last week the demand cased considerably as the sale progressed to the far end and business could - only he done at a considerable reduction on opening rates. Prime bullocks £ll to £l3. extra prime to £l4. medium £3 10s to £lO ss, light £7 10s to £S 12s 6d, best heifers fS to £!> 10s, medium to good £6 10s to £7 15s. light and aged £5 to £6. Fat sheep to the number of 3373 were penned, a very large proportion being light wethers and old ewes. All classes showed a decline in price as compared with last week's rates. Heavy wethers met with a fairly brisk sale at a decline of about Is per head, while light wethers and ewes of all sorts were from Is 6d to 2s per head easier. Prime wethers 22s 6d to 23s 9d. extra prime to 275. medium weight 13s to 21s, light 16s 6<l to ISs, prime ewes ISs to 20s 6cl. extra heavy to 26s 6d. medium 16s to 17s 2d. light and aged J3s to Us. fat Lambs—So9 were penned, the majority being of medium quality. Extra prime sold at prices equal to those ruling last week, but owing to a fall in values in the Home market medium sorts Iwere lower by about 9d per head. Stores and haveners met with good competition and sold at prices a shade in advance of late values. The lateness of the season and tne effects of the holidays showed themselves at the Addington live stock market to-day. There was an till round drop in the yarding that showed itself more particularly in the sheep division. Fat lambs were in decidedly smaller supply and the same remarks hold good in the fat and store sheep sections. There was some good stuff in the cattle pens, but here again tho yarding was smaller than at the previous week's market.
