ATHENAEUM COMMITTEE
MONTHLY MEETING. •The monthly meeting of the Athenaeum Committee, held last evening, was attended by Messrs W. A. Bloat (president). T. D. Pearce, J. T. Carswell. .1. .1. Miskens. A. Campbell, W. Quinn, F. W; Bicknell, W. O. Mehaffcy• v and ' Jas. Robertson (secretary). Mr G. R. George, secretary, wrote on behalf of the Bluff Bailors’ Rest, thanking the committee for its donation of literature during the -past year.—Received. ■ , . Messrs Catton and Co.’ advised that they had completed' the electric lighting of the Athenaeum, and made various suggestions as to the further improvement of the institution in tins connection.—The communication was received and the suggestions acted uppn by the committee.
Accounts amounting to £23 15s lOd were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
