EASTER HOLIDAYS.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—T would like to add to what lias already, been written regarding the closing of the local drapery, clothing and mercery establishments on Faster Saturday, It has boon done on previous years not later, 1 believe, than 1912, and why not again? If our local butchers and grocers, who, as purveyors of the necessities of life, can afford to close for tills period without financial loss to themselves or inconvenience to their various customers, I fail to see what is to prevent the clothing trade from following their splendid example. If the movement is unanimous it is impossible for an individual firm to sustain any loss. Should the employers accede to this request I am sure their action would be more than appreciated by those benefitted. 1 am. etc., DRAPER. Invercargill April 6.
