SM ADD —MeFA REA N'E. At St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church yesterday morning Mr David IL 'Small, eldest son of the la.tc Mr .1. H. Small, was married to M iss Violet McKarlane, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Duncan McKarlane, mayor and mayoress of Invercargill. There was a large assemblage of friends of the contracting parties, and the officiating minister was the Rev. H. W. Burridge. The bride was given away by her father. Sho wore the usual veil and was prettily gowned in an ivory satin eharmeuse costume trimmed -with pearl passementric and orange blossoms, and she carried a shower boquet of, seasonable blooms. She was attended by Misses Vera Small, Violet McKarlane, her niece, and Millie Cruicksbank. Miss Small wore a gown of ivory silk with an laco and a black picture hat surmounted by while lancet plumes. Misses Cruickshank and McKarlane wore dresses of white silk with velvet hats prettily trimmed with buttercups. The best man was Mr A ‘Wallace, and Mr Dunn was at the organ. The wedding breakfast, which was on a lavish scale, was held at the mayor’s residence in Esk street, where a marquee was erected on the lawn for the purpose. The couple received innumerable congratulatory messages' in addition to a number of handsome and useful presents. After the wedding breakfast Mr and Mrs Small motored to Woodlands, where they joined the north bound express. They will reside in Gore, where Mr Small is located.
