President Wilson, answering an objection to the repeal of the Panama Canal tolls, said that it was not consistent with the Democratic platform. Ho pointed out that the Exemption Bill was carried only with the aid of Republican votes. The President expects the support of two hundred Democrats when the House votes on the matter. A peculiar feature is that several politicians who usually support the Administration are now opposing the ret>ea| of the Bill.
