DUNEDIN CHILDREN’S PICNIC. (Per United Pres* Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 19. The Dunedin children, 1250, altogether; who are coming to Christchurch to see the New Zealand, arrived to-night and were distributed among the many hosts who offered homes. A number of the citizens were disappointed, for there were more hosts than were required. There was a great scene at the railway station when the trains arrived, but the task of distributing children was carried out promptly, and completely. The children will be taken through to Lyttelton to see the ship to-nn>crow morning, and on their return . will lunch at the Technical College. They will then be taken for a tramway trip to New Brighton,. and afterwards will be. entertained at Hayward’s Pictures, It Is also intended to grant them the free use of the Municipal Tepid baths later in the afternoon. To-day the ship was visited by 17.520 people.
